– Where's that Name From? –
Dubois was originally called Never Sweat. When the town went on to establish a post office the post master general at the time required it to be renamed. He took it upon himself to rename the town and renamed it after an Idaho senator named William Dubois. The townspeople, with somewhat of a rebellious attitude towards the renaming, pronounced the town name as Dewboyz. That pronounciation of the name continues today. |
